Our location in Portsmouth, VA, currently has an opportunity for a Clerk 1, Distribution & Dispatching. In this role, the individual will be responsible for performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes under direct supervision. Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Responsibilities include supporting team lead in managing small pack product order flow, ensuring order fulfillment meets customer requirements and follows First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) principles, organizing, prioritizing, and printing daily scheduled orders, promoting organization, professionalism, and time management among team members, assisting with scanning, sorting, packing, and shipment processing, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pack and ship stations, following all company safety rules and procedures, verifying that packing and shipping supplies are adequately stocked, using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint effectively, performing daily random quality audits on shipments, assisting with daily inventory cycle counts, ensuring all orders are sorted and shipped by the end of the shift, cross-training in all Workplace Lab job functions, demonstrating dependability and punctuality, managing the daily flow of express and ground shipments, performing other duties as assigned, organizing daily picking sheets, monitoring daily picking, packing, shipping, and replenishment activities, checking processes for accuracy and order fulfillment, building and maintaining relationships with internal customers, assisting with process improvements and submitting Global Help Desk tickets, and supporting team lead in Operational Excellence Meetings. Education and experience required include a high school education or GED. Preferred qualifications include strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, good business judgment, basic math skills, ability to read product labels, chain of custody forms, facility numbers, and customer ship methods, knowledge of the SAGE ERP 100 System and Scan Force, ability to follow work instructions, forklift certification or willingness to obtain it, ability to communicate discrepancies clearly to the lab manager, capability of calculating daily Units Per Hour (UPH) and tracking performance metrics, conducting weekly performance observations, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
