Job Description

  

Position Summary

Teledyne DGO is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to support the testing, validation, and qualification of high-reliability electrical and electro-mechanical products used in subsea, aerospace, and defense applications. This role is responsible for developing and executing test methods, troubleshooting product failures, and ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.

The Electrical Test Engineer collaborates closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure robust product performance, efficient test processes, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain electrical test procedures for production and qualification testing.

  • Design and support test fixtures, test setups, and automated test systems for electrical assemblies and components.

  • Support functional, environmental, and diagnostic testing on products to verify performance against specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and analyze electrical failures and non-conformances, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and customer specifications to ensure accurate testing and validation.

  • Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to improve product testability and reliability.

  • Analyze test data and generate reports, trends, and recommendations for process or product improvements.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing test strategies and validating designs.

  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Assist with documentation and updates within the quality management system (QMS).

  • Support customer audits, internal audits, and qualification testing as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.

  • 2–5+ years of experience in electrical testing, test engineering, or manufacturing engineering in a regulated industry environment.

  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques, particularly insulation testing (IR, hipot)

  • Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, insulation testers and data acquisition systems. RF experience is a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Why, Fishbone, fault isolation techniques).

  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and AS9100 preferred.

  • Exposure to automated test systems or programming (LabVIEW, Python, etc.)

  • Electrical fabrication and prototyping experience (assembly, soldering, 3D printing)

  • Experience in 3D modeling (SolidWorks) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
