VCA River City Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated and collaborative team.

Compensation: $ 22 - $ 24 / hour

Schedule: FT 4/10s, M-Th 7:30a - 6pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform patient intakes and discharge processes, including accurate record-keeping.
  • Administer medications and provide support for treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Assist with restraint and handling of animals during exams and treatments.
  • Perform surgical tasks, including placing IV catheters, venipuncture, intubation, and monitoring anesthesia during procedures.
  • Support the surgical team in preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care of patients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests, such as TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and sample collection.
  • Educate and communicate effectively with clients regarding care instructions and patient needs.
  • Uphold the hospital's safety standards and ensure compliance with procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Proficiency in animal restraint and basic medical procedures.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software and medical equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting while providing compassionate patient care.
