Connelly School of the Holy Child is seeking an experienced and dynamic Upper School Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about teaching and have a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students. About Us: 

Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school that educates young women in grades 6 through 12. We emphasize academic rigor, a joy of learning, and leadership among young women through diverse and enriching experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Teach Spanish to students in grades 9-12, developing proficiency in all language skills across novice, intermediate, and advanced levels. 
  • Create an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. 
  • Implement a variety of instructional strategies, with a focus on communicative language teaching and cultural understanding based on ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the World Languages Department to develop a cohesive and interdisciplinary curriculum. 
  • Assess student learning effectively and communicate progress regularly with students and their families. 
  • Design performance assessments and projects that assess the 21st-century skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. 
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events. 

Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. 
    • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish. 
    • At least 3 years of high school teaching experience with demonstrated success in fostering novice and intermediate language proficiency. 
    • Strong understanding of and commitment to the principles of effective language instruction. 
    • Ability to integrate technology in the classroom to enhance learning experiences. 
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with students and families. 
    • Commitment to the mission and values of Connelly School of the Holy Child and to fostering an inclusive and diverse school community. 
    • Willingness to engage in continual professional development and reflect on teaching practices.

Pay is commensurate with education and experience, and is calculated according to a school-wide pay scale. ($50,000 - $102,00)
