Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD/GIS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS) to support environmental projects. This role involves creating, analyzing, and managing spatial data and maps, as well as producing high-quality technical drawings and visualizations for environmental assessments, permitting, and planning.

- In-office position located at 22 IBM Road, Poughkeepsie NY
- Hours: M-F 8am-4pm or 9am-4pm

How you'll make an impact
- Develop and maintain GIS databases, maps, and spatial data for environmental projects.
- Create detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and designs for environmental site plans, remediation projects, and infrastructure development.
- Perform spatial analysis and modeling to support environmental impact assessments and decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and scientists to provide GIS and CAD support for various environmental projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in CAD and GIS work.
- Prepare high-quality visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models, to communicate complex data effectively.
- Conduct field data collection using GPS and other surveying tools, as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS and CAD software.
- Stay updated on advancements in GIS and CAD technologies and recommend improvements to workflows.
About You
Required:
Â
Bachelor's degree required.
3 years of professional related experience in Environmental Consulting.
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in CAD and GIS, preferably in an environmental consulting or related industry.
Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
Strong understanding of spatial data management, geoprocessing, and cartographic principles.
Experience with GPS data collection and integration into GIS platforms.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
