Consumer Leasing Specialist

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Consumer Leasing Specialist. Primary Function: Perform all functions pertaining to lease accounts such as final bill preparation, satisfaction of tasks and emails sent by Credit Union Leasing of America (CULA), and management of property taxes and violations. Serve as the main point of contact with CULA for all leasing items. Responsible for all post-funding monetary and non-monetary maintenance of leases. Practice conformity to regulations and CULA requirements for leases, property taxes, violations. Reconciliation of reports and general ledgers.

• Performs tasks associated with end of lease process and maintenance. Prepares ownership transfer documents, updates post origination system, and obtains necessary documentation from lessee to complete disposition or renewal process. Reconciliation of reports and lease general ledgers.
  
• Acts as liason between HVCU and Credit Union Leasing of America (CULA) and provides guidance on end of lease maintenance functions.
  
• Participates in relationship status calls and participates in on-site visits to assigned accounts to build relationships and improve service.
  
• Works closely with Relationship Managers, Account Managers, Customers and Lease Partners to provide superior customer service.
  
• Administer property tax bills and delinquent violation bills for applicable lease accounts monthly which include general ledger balancing, research, and payments. Adhere to all compliance requirements and all requirements of CULA.
• Responsible for the audit and reconciliation of HVCU’s current lease portfolio against CULA’s current lease portfolio monthly.
• Maintain close relationships with Member Debt Solutions, Accounting, CULA, and other internal and external areas to resolve member issues and reconcile billing and end of lease matters.
• Ensure the Credit Union remains within regulatory compliance requirements by completing internal reports, vendor reports and reconciles various general ledger accounts.  Escalating all findings to management.
• Handle all member, vendor, and employee telephone call and service request inquiries to the Consumer Lending area regarding lease extensions, final lease bills, lease property tax bills, parking and/or toll violation bills, lemon law for leases, and other end of lease matters.
• Responsible understanding all aspects of the lease lemon law process and facilitating substitution of collateral or vehicle buyback with dealer.
• Responsible for reporting daily tasks and daily volume to members of Consumer Loan Servicing leadership.
• Responsible for providing technical support and training on lease related matters as needed.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining job-related procedures to keep current and improve efficiencies.
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
  

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
• Minimum 2 years Financial institution transferrable experience is required. 
• Minimum 2 years Lease Servicing/Lease loan servicing work history, or proven history performing detail oriented maintenance on high volume accounts is preferred. 
• Minimum 2 years experience General Ledger work history (or maintenance of monthly GL, billing and reconciling differences in GLs it Accounting) preferred.
