We are currently seeking an  Assistant Director of Youth Services to work in our UC LTFC Program.   Position Summary The Assistant Director of Youth Services is responsible for assisting the Director of Youth Services in the oversight of and the delivery of program services to UC in care as well as oversight of Direct Care Staff. The Assistant Director of Youth Services is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations for the residential part of the program. This includes the transfer of children in and out of custody, programmatic activities, and ensuring compliance with ORR policies and procedures.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Providing coverage and assistance to the Director of Youth Care Services in all aspects of direct care, as needed. 2. Oversight of the daily operations for the residential part of the UC Shelter and LTFC programs 3. Ensure that the program is implemented effectively to ensure the safety of children in care and that sufficient supervision is provided at all times. 4. Provide direct supervision of the Floaters team 5. Implement appropriate staff to child ratios to ensure a safe environment 6. S/He will approve staff scheduling and any request for overtime as needed 7. S/He may be required to respond to emergency situations that occur after hours and be on call as needed. 8. Provide weekly or biweekly supervision to all direct reports 9. Ensure that youth counselors are appropriately trained to perform their job functionality 10. Review documentation for youth on increased supervision 11. Assist in the coordination of travel logistics, as needed 12. Works as a collaborative member of the UC staff team   Schedule Sunday-Wednesday 11am-9pm, Thursday-Saturday OFF   The Children's Home offers an outstanding benefit package which includes weekly pay, medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 403(b), tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and a great work environment! QualificationsMINIMUM Qualifications: ● Associate's Degree in social science, psychology or a related field ● Child welfare experience ● Supervisory experience ● Bilingual Spanish / English ● New York State Driver’s License in good standing as determined by the Agency.   PREFERRED Qualifications : ● Bachelor’s Degree in social science, psychology or a related field ● 5 years or more experience working in child welfare   The Children's Home of Poughkeepsie is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
