Arnoff Moving & Storage, a family-owned company with over 100 years of experience in transportation and logistics, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. We are seeking an operations manager to lead day-to-day branch operations while ensuring safe, efficient, profitable, and high-quality execution of local and long-haul moving services and related services.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in warehouse, transportation, or moving services.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as this position involves dispatching and managing crews while ensuring efficiency and productivity.
Effective time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities
Demonstration of sound judgment and decision-making skills for our fast-paced environment and high-stress environment
Prior experience utilizing technology, including Microsoft Office programs, Movers Suite, Samsara, or similar programs
High school or equivalent is required, and some college is preferred

Daily dispatch, route assignments, briefing and debriefing, and overall performance of operations
Development and management of our team of drivers, helpers, warehouse, and other team members, with hiring, mentoring, training, and performance management
Collaboration internally with Customer Service and Sales
Understanding and following all federal and state guidelines and regulations
Ensuring safety is the number one priority
Availability to respond to work calls during off-hours

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Combination of office, warehouse, truck yard, and on-site field environments (residential, commercial, and industrial locations).
Ability to work extended hours as business needs require, including early mornings, occasional weekends/holidays, and peak season demands.
Ability to walk job sites, climb in/out of trucks/warehouses, and occasionally lift/move items consistent with a hands-on operations leadership role.
Must be able to communicate clearly in person and by phone/radio to coordinate time-sensitive operations.
