- Perform phlebotomy procedures across all patient age groups, ensuring accurate identification, labeling, specimen integrity, and courteous patient interaction.
- Process and prepare laboratory specimens, including verification, centrifugation, labeling, and routing, while providing timely and professional phone support.
- Complete LIS/computer tasks, such as receiving specimens, monitoring pending logs, placing test orders, printing labels, and preparing reference lab send-outs.
- Report and escalate issues, including safety hazards, discrepancies, system problems, and workplace incidents, while documenting concerns and offering solutions.
- Maintain professional competency, completing required education, demonstrating proficiency in new procedures, participating in training, and pursuing ongoing skill development.
- Follow hospital and laboratory policies, including safety protocols, attendance standards, confidentiality requirements, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism and respect, ensuring positive interactions with patients, families, staff, and departments while upholding confidentiality, dress code, and teamwork expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting departmental efficiency and adapting to evolving operational needs.Â
