For the Power Equipment Sales Associate, this means guiding customers through the purchase of outdoor power equipment by offering knowledgeable recommendations, answering questions with confidence, and ensuring a smooth sales process from initial inquiry through delivery. You will represent Adams with professionalism, enthusiasm, and expertise while helping customers find the right equipment to meet their needs.

Your Day-to-Day 

• Greet customers personally and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance on the sales floor
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with product questions and availability
• Consult with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate equipment
• Demonstrate equipment features and proper operation to customers
• Schedule deliveries for newly purchased equipment
• Assist with credit approval processes for new equipment purchases
• Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready sales floor and equipment displays
• Create and maintain signage for equipment
• Participate in home shows and promotional events as needed
• Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
• Collaborate with team members and management to ensure department success

What you bring to the Farm 

• Professional sales experience or related transferrable skills
• Strong communication skills with customers, coworkers, and leadership
• Knowledge and understanding of outdoor power equipment (or willingness to learn quickly)
• Ability to confidently demonstrate equipment operation and features
• Customer-focused mindset with a helpful and positive attitude
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
• Professional demeanor and enthusiasm for Adams’ products and service standards
• Commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive department environment

Working Conditions

• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly so others can understand.
• Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 80 pounds (with assistance).
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, combined with frequent movement throughout the service department and retail floor.
• Ability to work at a computer to complete administrative and reporting tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the duration of the shift.
• Moving self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various work environments.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when handling equipment or assisting customers.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions – including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $18.00 - $26.00. At Adams, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation.
