Martha & Mary's Early Learning Center is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of children from birth to 5 years old. Our center is committed to providing a safe, creative, and loving environment where children can thrive. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Program Supervisor to join our team and lead the way in delivering exceptional care and education to our children.

Position Overview: As the Program Supervisor, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational program and ensuring the well-being of all children in our care. Working closely with the Director and Assistant Director, you will oversee all center activities, provide leadership to staff, and ensure that our educational programs are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with our mission.

This role requires a creative thinker, an effective leader, and a compassionate caregiver who is dedicated to fostering a positive and nurturing environment for both children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educational Leadership: Develop and monitor the educational program, ensuring that daily schedules include free play, group activities, outdoor time, rest periods, and meals. Collaborate with staff to plan and organize educational and creative activities that inspire young minds.
  • Staff Supervision: Assign duties and daily schedules for childcare aides and teachers, ensuring adequate staff coverage. Supervise, evaluate, and support staff development to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Discipline & Guidance: Serve as the authority on children's discipline, ensuring established rules are followed. Provide resources and support to staff in managing behavioral issues.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain quality control for the center by establishing and implementing best practices. Conduct regular checks to ensure lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and being effectively implemented.
  • Parental Communication: Act as the main point of contact for parents, addressing concerns, scheduling conferences, and ensuring a positive outcome in all interactions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the center's operations comply with all licensing requirements, policies, and procedures. Collaborate on fire and earthquake drills to ensure safety preparedness.
  • Facility Management: Ensure the center is well-maintained, clean, and presents a welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: ECE State Certificate or equivalent, with at least two years of experience as a teacher working with children from birth to 5 years old. Experience in curriculum development and a deep understanding of children’s physical, emotional, and developmental patterns are essential.
  • At least one year of management/coaching experience and experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD/Early Achievers highly preferred
  • Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit and First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and communicate company policies.
    • A joyful, patient approach to working with children and a sensitivity to their individual and group needs.
    • A professional, well-groomed appearance and evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
    • The ability to foster an atmosphere of positive and appropriate discipline and effectively communicate with parents.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued at varying rates depending on length of employment.   Accrual rates begin at 5.32 hours per month based on a 40-hour workweek.  These accruals include the required sick leave per Washington State’s Paid Sick Leave Law
