Blue Marble Communications is seeking a Financial Analyst to support program finance, forecasting, and reporting activities across multiple engineering and development programs. This role partners closely with Program Managers, Engineering, Operations, and Management to provide accurate financial visibility, support proposal development, and maintain compliance with customer and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Estimates to Complete (ETCs) and Estimates at Completion (EACs) for assigned programs
  • Partner with Program Managers to review actuals, forecasts, risks, and opportunities
  • Monitor costs against planned expenses
  • Improve financial visibility into material spending, work in process, and forward projections
  • Support maintenance of Earned Value Management practices
  • Track and analyze performance metrics
  • Maintain financial tracking for IR&D efforts and internal projects
  • Assist with cost volume development for future proposals
  • Build program budgets and high-level financial models for leadership planning
  • Support basis-of-estimate documentation and pricing assumptions
  • Prepare and enhance recurring monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards
  • Perform variance analysis and present key drivers to leadership
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis requests from leadership and stakeholders
  • Assist with financial data requests related to diligence and audits
  • Ensure financial data supports contractual and accounting requirements
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Accounting
  • Help standardize processes and improve reporting consistency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 3–8 years of financial analysis, program finance, or project accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills (financial modeling, lookups, pivot tables)
  • Experience working with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance personnel
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or engineering environment, preferred
  • EVMS / project-based accounting experience, preferred
  • Proposal or cost-volume pricing support, preferred
  • ERP system experience (project or job-cost environment), preferred
  • Exposure to audits, diligence, or investor reporting, preferred
  • Must be a US Person (This position has export control and security-related requirements that mandate attention to the citizenship status of any potential candidate and necessitates that the individual either be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident of the United States, or lawfully admitted into the United States as a refugee or granted asylum by the United States Government.)
