Summary:

 

The primary responsibility of the Administrator is diaconal in nature (characteristic of the ministry of a deacon or servant) with an emphasis on facilitating, serving, and assisting through the financial and administrative work of ministry. Responsibilities include leading the FBP finance team, implementing and maintaining financially prudent and Christ-honoring financial processes and procedures, facilitating the development of the annual budget, facilitating administrative processes that encourage faithful gospel ministry, and facilitating effective communication through the various communication media.

 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop efficient financial and administrative systems that encourage the health of the church’s ministries, including First Baptist Academy.
  • Help facilitate the annual budgeting process by assisting the elders in the development of the budget.
  • Participate in and potentially facilitate the Finance Committee.
  • Facilitate conversations between the FBP finance team and any third party CPA firm.
  • Oversee and manage the functionality of our church office in a way that supports and encourages gospel ministry.
  • Provide support to leadership in budget development, financial reporting, the processing of accounts payable and receivable, and journal entries.
  • Research and correct errors in records or record-keeping.
  • Attend regularly scheduled all-staff meetings and other meetings where supervisor deems participation necessary.
  • Present financial reports at First Baptist Church members’ meetings.
  • Supervise direct reports: Finance Specialists, Receptionists, and Communication Staff.
  • Implement and oversee a more effective and efficient credit card processing system.
  • Facilitate effective communication through Subsplash and social media.
  • Oversee administrative functions of Subsplash.
  • Oversee the church calendar.
  • Acquire cross-training in HR responsibilities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

 

  • The candidate must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, faithful in church attendance. This person will be required to pursue membership with First Baptist Church within 6 months of being hired.
  • The candidate must meet the character requirements of a deacon as outlined in 1 Tim 3:8-13.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or Office Management (or reasonable equivalent experience).
  • Professional experience in organizational communication is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of administrative or financial leadership experience in a church and/or Christian school.
  • Models compassionate, people-conscious, and Christ-honoring servant leadership while exercising faithful financial stewardship.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications as well as Google Workspace Applications.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Fastidious attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
