Our 2026 Industrial Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Operations team by capturing, defining, and updating critical manufacturing process documentation. This role will help bridge the gap between real-world shop floor activities and technical documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Visual Work Instructions (WIs) to ensure operational consistency, safety, and quality.

Our internships will run full time, June-August 2026 onsite our Poynette location.
Responsibilities
- Create, revise, and standardize technical documentation including SOPs and assembly instructions.
- Photograph and annotate production steps to create visual aids that improve training and changeover efficiency
- Assist in maintaining and updating Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and labor standards to ensure system accuracy.
- Partner with Quality, EHS (Safety) and Production teams to align documentation with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Assist in identifying documentation gaps that contribute to bottlenecks or waste.
- Validate and update other process documentation including PFMEAs and control plans.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate student pursuing BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Visio)
- Good communication skills; verbal, written, and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent listening and note-taking skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and participate positively within a team environment.
- Reliable transportation to our manufacturing facility in Poynette, WI (about 20 minutes from Sun Prairie, 30 minutes from downtown Madison)
- Authorization to work in United States required.
