Antique Rose Emporium is seeking an organized, creative, and experienced Education & Experiences Manager to lead our educational programs, signature events, digital content strategy, and marketing team.

Antique Rose Emporium is more than a nursery. Our nearly nine-acre property includes destination gardens, a retail garden center, specialty gift shop, e-commerce business, rose production operation, educational programming, and public events. This new leadership position will help bring these areas together through a coordinated brand, education, and visitor-experience strategy.

Position Summary

The Education & Experiences Manager will plan and oversee educational programs, workshops, major public events, digital educational content, and integrated marketing campaigns.

This position will directly supervise two Marketing Specialists and assigned interns. The Manager will provide the strategy, priorities, timelines, and project leadership needed to help the team work toward shared goals.

The successful candidate will be able to take broad ideas and turn them into organized plans, budgets, assignments, timelines, and measurable results.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of the three-day Spring Celebration and Fall Festival of Roses.
  • Develop seminars, workshops, demonstrations, art classes, and paid educational events.
  • Create an annual education, event, marketing, and content calendar.
  • The Education & Events Manager will lead and support a powerhouse marketing team, providing the direction, coordination, and accountability needed to turn strong individual efforts into one cohesive strategy.
  • This role will integrate education and event marketing with ARE’s broader retail and e-commerce plans by coordinating social media, email marketing, educational content, events, product launches, and major campaigns.
  • Recruit and manage speakers, instructors, artists, vendors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Lead the development of educational videos for YouTube and other digital channels.
  • Coordinate the recording, organization, and repurposing of seminars and educational programs.
  • Develop opportunities for online courses, recorded programs, memberships, sponsorships, and other earned revenue.
  • Prepare program budgets, timelines, attendance goals, and financial projections.
  • Track event attendance, program revenue, marketing performance, video engagement, and customer feedback.
  • Work across Retail, Gardens, Production, E-Commerce, Operations, and Administration to coordinate major initiatives.
  • Build repeatable systems, templates, and procedures for programs, campaigns, and events.
  • Serve in a rotating Manager on Duty role, acting as the go-to leader on the property for guest needs, staffing coverage, and day-to-day decisions when senior leadership isn't on site.

The role is responsible for establishing the strategy, organizing the work, supporting the specialists, reviewing results, and ensuring that projects are completed successfully.

Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, events, educational programming, marketing leadership, visitor experiences, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supervising employees, interns, contractors, or project teams.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Experience turning ideas into clear work plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional judgment when working with employees, customers, speakers, partners, and the public.
  • Comfort working in a seasonal, customer-facing environment.
  • Willingness to work selected weekends and evenings for events and programs.
  • Proficiency with common project-management, marketing, registration, and digital-content platforms.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, education, hospitality, horticulture, nonprofit management, business, or a related area.
  • Experience with a public garden, botanical garden, museum, cultural organization, nursery, destination attraction, agritourism business, or educational organization.
  • Experience leading social media and email marketing employees.
  • Experience producing educational videos, webinars, courses, workshops, or conferences.
  • Familiarity with gardening, horticulture, roses, art programming, or adult education.
  • Experience working with universities, nonprofits, volunteers, Extension programs, garden clubs, or community organizations.

Horticultural knowledge is helpful but is not required. Strong leadership, project-management, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
