Job DetailsJob Location: Prairieville, LA 70769Job Purpose: - The Medical Laboratory Technician at RISE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL LLC is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to quality control protocols. Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology. - Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens following established protocols and safety guidelines. - Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly. - Record and interpret test results, and communicate findings to healthcare providers in a clear and concise manner. - Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. - Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results. - Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and techniques. - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including OSHA and CLIA regulations. - Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and trainees as needed. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.QualificationsRequired Education: - Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution. - Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized certifying body such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
