John A Biewer Company of Wisconsin is looking to add a Full Time Production Planner in our team in Prentice, Wi. The main responsibilities will be to schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between lumber treating departments to expedite production. Production Planner Summary:

Schedule and coordinate flow of work within or between lumber treating departments to expedite production. This includes reviewing production work orders, establishing priorities for specific customer orders, and revising schedules based on work order specifications, resource availability, and machine capacity.

 

Production Planner Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Review production schedule to generate work orders accordingly through daily planning.


Establish priorities for specific customer orders by working with the sales department and production manager.


Revise schedule according to work order specifications, priorities, and availability.


Answer incoming phone calls and welcome visitors, inbound and outbound drivers.


Prepare paperwork and documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.


Enter data, file paperwork, documents, purchase orders, and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival.


Monitor inventory levels and forecast supply needs.


Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.


Collaborate with internal departments to understand supply requirements.


Develop a comprehensive understanding of each lumber product line, including designated storage locations and sales channels.


Follow all safety procedures and policies, work together with co-workers to ensure a safe working environment and report all accidents or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.


Production Planner Basic Qualifications:

Good communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) for working effectively with others.


Ability to write and update routine reports, basic correspondence and follow production specifications.


Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and ability to navigate and acquire skills to use internal systems.


Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.


High accuracy level.


Production Planner Education, Experience, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.


Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.


Lumber industry knowledge of board sizing, lumber grading standards, and quality terminology required.


At least six (6) months previous experience in lumber or treating lumber manufacturing.


Work Environment:

Combined office and industrial manufacturing work setting. 


Exposure to bark, sawdust, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures (hot, cold, humid).


Due to exposure to noise above the permissible exposure limit (PEL), falling hazards, and sawdust, employees must wear hearing protection, a hard hat, safety glasses, and safety footwear, and a high-visibility shirt/vest.


 

Physical Demands:

Stand, sit or walk for extended periods (8-12-hour shifts).


Climb and descend steps, stairways, or ladders several times per shift.




Monday - Thursday 5am-3pm
