Job DetailsJob Location: Prescott Valley, AZ 86314Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $18.00 - $20.00Job Shift: AnyPOSITION SUMMARY The Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to appointments, outings, and other activities, ensuring a comfortable and secure travel experience. RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to the following: Transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and other activities. Assist residents with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, including handling wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids. Ensure the safety and comfort of residents during transport by adhering to all traffic laws and driving best practices. Maintain communication with facility staff to coordinate schedules and route planning effectively. Perform routine maintenance checks and report any issues or needed repairs. Keep a log of vehicle usage and maintain records of resident transport details. Provide occasional support for other facility activities as needed. Supervisory Responsibility: No. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience: Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous professional driving experience, ideally in a role involving the transportation of passengers. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Understanding of local traffic laws and navigation routes. Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures specific to transporting elderly or mobility-impaired individuals. Proficient in safe driving practices and defensive driving techniques. Effective communication skills to interact with residents, staff, and the public. Ability to organize and manage time to adhere to schedules and route plans. Skilled in operating and maintaining various types of vehicles, including those equipped with lifts and ramps for wheelchair access. Ability to physically assist residents into and out of the vehicle, including managing wheelchairs, walkers, and other aids. Capable of responding calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to maintain patience and professionalism when working with residents who may have special needs or disabilities. Able to work independently and make decisions on the road regarding route changes or unexpected delays.
