Manufacturing Manager – Repair Operations

Role purpose (position scope):

The Manufacturing Manager-Repair Operations is responsible for development and implementation of activities in production areas to meet productivity goals, quality, and cost objectives.  Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment effectiveness and materials supply.  Plans and administer procedures and budgets.  Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.  Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.  Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning process of developing and implementing Operations strategy.
  • Application of the Canyon AeroConnect SOF (Standard Operation Framework) such that all levels of opportunities for continuous improvement and waste elimination are identified and acted upon.
  • Ensure the deployment of Standard Work to all levels under their control, regularly checking compliance and taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manages or analyses production data to determine plant capacity data manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.
  • Ensure capacity and capability are continually planned to meet agreed customer requirements and work and information flow are documented and regularly reviewed to ensure smooth and rapid execution of Customer requirements.
  • Ensuring a smooth interface with supporting departments not under direct control (E.g. Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, After Market etc.).
  • Manage individual and team performance, regularly reviewing with Process owners/Line leaders, rewarding excellence and the achievement, or bettering of targets and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Responsible for the communication of daily performance using visual workplace methodology and maintaining appropriate metric boards, Root Cause problem identification and corrective actions and other pertinent information. Ensure that local metrics are linked to Value Drivers.
  • Identification of opportunities for cross training and capacity training to enhance capacity and responsiveness to know customer requirements.
  • Responsible for EH&S compliance and driving culture.
  • Overall capacity planning, allocation of reserve capacity, identification of planned shutdowns and allocation of down-time for maintenance.
  • Report to senior management regularly with regards to objectives, goals, accomplishments and expectations.
  • Compliance with implemented QMS.
  • Manage the interface with the product development process to optimise business performance.
  • Comply with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education and Experience:

  • 4-Year degree, preferred Engineering or Business
  • 5 - 10 years Manufacturing/Assembly line management experience
  • 5 - 10 years proven continuous improvement experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge & proficiency in MRP tools



Physical Demands:

  • Tasks involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects or materials (5 – 10 lbs.)
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation
