Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant II, you will provide essential, basic-level patient care and treatments within our dynamic Orthopedics department. You will be a key support for physicians, residents, and nursing personnel, directly contributing to efficient patient workflow and exceptional clinical outcomes.聽

Every day you will meticulously obtain vital signs, document chief complaints, and accurately record all patient interactions and clinically relevant findings. You will assist with patient history collection, prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments for minor procedures, and administer medications under direct physician supervision.聽

To be successful in this role, you will hold a Medical Assistant Certificate or have completed an accredited MA program (or a US Armed Forces medical services training program). You must possess current BLS-CPR certification and demonstrate proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively connect with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

  • Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimensaccording to hospital protocol
  • Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
  • Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assists in patient/equipment preparation
  • Performs follow-up actions as directed
  • Completes hospital forms per protocol

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate/GED
  • Certificate Other Medical Assistant聽
  • Other Completion of a US Armed Forces medical services training program
  • Computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
  • American Heart Association
    • Basic Life Support - (BLS) CPR

Preferred

  • Previous Medical Assistant Experience聽
  • Electronic Medical Record EMR experience
  • Experience in designated specialty area
  • Bilingual skills
