Facilities Technician

The City of Presque Isle has an opening for a Facilities Technician. The Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role involves troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to service requests promptly and efficiently. The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in supporting daily operations and enhancing the overall condition of facilities. 

Education and Experience / Skills Required

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in building systems or facilities management is preferred.
• Proven experience in facility maintenance or a similar role (5+ years).
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and a variety of equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and to work independently.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.
