Our Price, Utah manufacturing facility is looking for a dependable and motivated Paint Operations Assistant to join our Day Shift team.

This role supports the daily operations of our paint department by preparing equipment and components for coating, handling materials, maintaining work areas, and assisting with additional production activities as needed.

What You'll Do

As a Paint Operations Assistant, you will provide hands-on support to the paint and production teams. Responsibilities may include:

• Clean and prepare equipment, components, and other surfaces prior to painting.
• Perform preparation activities such as washing, wiping, vacuuming, caulking, taping, masking, and hanging parts.
• Lift and position parts or components onto racks for cleaning, preparation, and painting.
• Use pressure-washing equipment to clean equipment and components.
• Safely operate various makes and sizes of forklifts.
• Operate overhead cranes as required for material handling.
• Wear and properly use a respirator when job conditions require it.
• Prepare and clean surfaces and re-tap threaded holes when necessary.
• Perform paint-related touch-up work to help restore equipment to OEM condition.
• Assist with the disassembly, cleaning, and repair of equipment.
• Patch, finish, and repair surfaces, including completing emergency repairs when required.
• Keep assigned work areas clean, orderly, and safe through consistent housekeeping practices.
• Support Final Assembly activities, including assisting with the assembly and installation of electrical components when needed.

Opportunity to Learn Industrial Painting

Team members interested in expanding their skills may have the opportunity to train in industrial painting under supervision.

Training may include:

• Learning the proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of industrial painting equipment.
• Removing old paint, coatings, or finishes and preparing surfaces for new coating applications.
• Evaluating different surface types and learning the appropriate preparation and coating methods for each application.
• Learning how to mix and match paints, coatings, and other finishes.
• Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for a variety of industrial painting applications.
• Applying coatings such as epoxies, enamels, urethanes, paints, varnishes, stains, and lacquers.
• Learning to use high-volume low-pressure (HVLP), airless, and conventional spray-painting equipment.
• Conducting quality checks throughout the painting process to confirm coating specifications are being met and reduce the need for rework.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Job Requirements

Qualified candidates should be able to meet the following job-related requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred. At minimum, completion of the 10th grade is required, along with up to one month of related work experience or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to regularly lift 20 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work that includes prolonged standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, reaching, and working on concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow safety procedures, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, work procedures, diagrams, schedules, and other job-related documentation.
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and be able to complete routine reports and workplace correspondence.
• Must be comfortable performing basic workplace math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and rates.
• Basic computer skills are required for tasks such as recording work time and job hours.
• Must possess OSHA forklift and overhead crane certifications or be able to successfully obtain the required certifications.
• Must successfully complete a Pulmonary Function Test to safely wear a respirator and must be able to safely work around machinery and moving equipment while following all IE safety policies and procedures.

Physical & Visual Demands

This position requires the ability to use hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively by speaking and hearing. Employees must also have adequate close, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

Employees are expected to work a standard 40-hour work week and may be required to work additional hours based on production schedules, workload, or other operational needs.
