Job Summary:

The Vault Clerk is responsible for handling, recording, and securing cash, valuables, or sensitive documents within a vault or secure facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records of transactions and ensuring compliance with security and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, and record incoming cash, coin, checks, or other valuables.
  • Prepare and package outgoing orders for distribution or transfer.
  • Maintain detailed records of all vault activity including inventory logs and transaction reports.
  • Balance vault room daily and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Monitor security protocols and report any suspicious activity immediately.
  • Operate cash counting machines and other equipment used in vault operations.
  • Assist with audits and inventory counts as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support other team members and departments as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • Previous experience in cash handling, banking, or secure operations is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math and computer skills (Excel, inventory systems, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Working Conditions:

  • Secure and highly controlled environment.
  • May require early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on operations.
  • Frequent interaction with armored transport, banks, or financial institutions.
