CRISIS SPECIALIST

 

Crisis Specialist Position Summary: 

The Crisis Specialist is responsible for coordinating follow-ups with clients referring to treatment and developing a network of community crisis support. This is a full-time awake overnight position. 

Schedule:

Friday-8:30 am-8:30 pm 

Saturdays-8:30pm-8:30 am

Sunday-8:30pm-8:30 am


Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain total confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA law, CARF accreditation standards and Maryland State Regulations.
  • Carry out the Crisis Stabilization Plan developed by the treatment team.
  • Carry out triage on emergency mental health calls for agency on call system.
  • Provide immediate support and assessment to clients experiencing a crisis.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely fashion.


Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in crisis invention or mental health services
  • Current CPR and First Aid
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Formal training or significant experience in crisis interventions.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalating techniques.
