Overview
Graduate Princeton is seeking an energetic and service-driven Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a welcoming bar atmosphere, and providing attentive, knowledgeable service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Provide attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service to all guests, creating a welcoming bar experience
- Take and process guest orders accurately using the POS system, handling cash and credit transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including bar top, service areas, and equipment
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked with liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, and supplies throughout each shift
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in compliance with all laws and company policies
- Check guest identification to verify legal drinking age
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Set up and break down the bar for service, including opening and closing duties
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low stock or supply needs
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or hotel environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
- Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order-taking and cash handling
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods of time
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol in New Jersey
- TIPS or similar alcohol service certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire)
