Location: Princeton, IN
Job Type: Contract (12 Months)
Travel: Up to 20% (Domestic & International)
Overtime: Approximately 12%
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Onsite

Position Summary

Final Assembly Production Engineering Department is seeking a CAD Technician to support digital manufacturing initiatives for new model launches. This position will focus on creating and managing digital manufacturing models, performing simulations, supporting layout development, and utilizing advanced engineering tools to improve manufacturing processes and equipment readiness.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a strong CAD, 3D modeling, or engineering technology background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support digital manufacturing activities for upcoming vehicle model launches.
  • Develop and maintain 3D layouts, assembly models, and manufacturing simulations.
  • Perform engineering studies using digital manufacturing software.
  • Create and modify CAD models utilizing AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Navisworks.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation studies to support manufacturing improvements.
  • Support digital environment creation through 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies.
  • Manage engineering data and assembly studies for vehicle production.
  • Update production layouts and digital manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout North American Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs) and global Toyota divisions.
  • Support project planning activities for future model changes.
  • Participate in domestic and occasional international travel for engineering meetings and manufacturing observations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Technology, CAD, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using one or more of the following:
    • CATIA
    • SolidWorks
    • Inventor
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and drafting techniques.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of 3D printing technologies.
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning equipment and workflows.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
