Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of Team Members in processing scrap, recyclable, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste generated from the process of building automobiles.

What You'll Do

  • Operate equipment such as stand up and sit-down Tuggers. Forklifts, and large horizontal and vertical Balers.
  • Conducts procedural training for GMI personnel
  • Monitors work procedures to ensure Team Member safety
  • Address TMMI/GMI concerns
  • Monitors and ensures that all employees are trained in safety awareness of all routes and processes
  • Ensures all GMI staff conduct equipment inspection checks daily or as scheduled.
  • Ensures all GMI employees in routes wear proper PPE.
  • Conducts monthly Risk Assessment of possible unsafe environments, processes or activities.
  • Performs daily 5S inspection of warehouse.
  • Ensures all shipments of waste are handled in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Maintain proper inventory of all deliverables such as drums, totes, lamp boxes, etc.
  • Ensures Accumulation area is inspected daily.
  • Ensures all calls for service are responded to and/or passed down to next shift.
  • Must review 100% of all Team Member daily logs, for weights, times, pulls and accuracy.
  • Develops and maintains Work Instruction Sheets for all processes.
  • Maintain visual control boards to show success in accomplishing targets.
  • Write shift notes or pass down information for beginning of next shift..
  • Establishes or adjusts work assignments to coordinate flow of material..
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Checks shipping documents prepared by other employees.
  • Assists Team Members and Team Leader with job duties as required
  • Assists in customer activities.
  • The responsibilities of this position include monitoring Environmental Management System (EMS) performance, assuring regulatory compliance, continuous improvement in the protection of the environment, reduction of pollution from the activities within the organization.
