Pack Operators are responsible for working safely and completing 5S assignments, as well as using standard work processes for packing, filling and labeling cylinders in a productive manner in order to meet daily customer demands. In addition, Pack Operators will be expected to inspect parts for quality and correctness to ensure proper parts are being packed. Finally, they will be expected to let their Leads or Team Leaders know if they encounter any problems that will keep them from meeting these responsibilities. Essential duties include removing appropriate parts from conveyor or stock, filling, testing, regulating cylinders, packaging finished parts and preparing them for shipment, performing quality checks on parts and products, performing spot checks to ensure closers and parts are packaged and labeled correctly, placing URL labels on cylinders, removing ferules as needed, following safety regulations, keeping work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards, and flexibility to work overtime as needed. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships, work independently, use Kanban workflow, follow instructions, read and interpret various documents, identify components, use CRT and data entry technologies, general machinery knowledge, and basic math and computer skills. Physical requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds with assistance for over 35 pounds, manual dexterity, ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Mechanical requirements include use of two hand palm buttons, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment. Environmental exposure includes chemicals, temperature changes, noise, vibration, dirt, sharp objects, and moving mechanical parts.
