Toolmaker

Job Description

Responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting incoming molds, tear down of molds, insert changes, preventative maintenance, and repairs of injection molds and fixtures, and other duties as assigned. Candidate must be able to interpret and perform necessary work from complicated specifications and drawings. Position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mold repairs and or machine shop environment.


Duties:

  • Repair & Maintenance of a variety of dies, tools, jigs, and other fixtures as required.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling for continued operations of production orders.
  • Perform insert changeovers on multiple part tooling.
  • Support and communicate with multiple company departments with any tooling needs and status of work.
  • Perform grinding, milling operations, polishing and fittings on projects as required.
  • Participate in multiple projects and balance priorities maintaining customer-focused priorities at all times.

Requirements:

  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Experience working from complex prints, sketches, samples, or other instructions
  • Experience running manual machine tools under limited supervision
  • Experience using precision measuring & gauging equipment
  • Experience using machinists' hand and power-driven tools
  • Experience using material-handling equipment
  • Willingness to perform other work as necessary to meet production demands
  • Follow all safety and work rules and practices
  • Independent and willing to take initiative
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with occasional overtime
  • Experience with hot runner manifolds

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of tooling & molding capabilities: 2-3 years previous experience (Preferred)
