POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Apprentice Technician I, Electro-Mechanical to join our maintenance team at DrinkPAK. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production equipment by performing regular lubrication and preventive maintenance tasks.
LOCATION:Â The position is based at DrinkPAK's Texas Facility.

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment. Leverage Electro-mechanic technician support as neededÂ
Provide technical support to the production team, expected to be an expert packaging operator to be successful in this roleÂ
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.Â
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.Â
Participate in troubleshooting activities to diagnose and repair equipment failures or malfunctions.Â
Assist in assembling and testing electrical and mechanical components.Â
Adhere to company safety and quality protocols, standards, and procedures.Â
Participate in on-the-job training and classroom learning to develop a comprehensive understanding of electromechanical systems.Â
Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and installations performed, including any parts consumedÂ
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in an organized and safe manner.Â
Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.Â
Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facilityÂ
Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance withDrinkPAK’s defined processesÂ
Assist in upgrading existing systems to improve performance and efficiency.Â
Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs in a safe and timely mannerÂ
Keep alert for safety issues and escalate immediatelyÂ
May fill in for production operator, as neededÂ
Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operationÂ
Responds promptly and honors commitments to internal and external customersÂ
Makes recommendations to continuously improve policies, methods, procedures, and/or productsÂ
Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where requiredÂ
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job to ensure equipment and facility uptimeÂ
Train production operators as neededÂ

QUALIFICATIONSÂ
High school diploma or equivalent (required).Â
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.Â
Strong interest in learning about electromechanical systems.Â
Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to work in a team environment.Â
Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of Electromechanical technicians.Â
Basic math and computer skills.Â
Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand and power tools.Â
A desire to complete a formal apprenticeship program and gain industry certifications.Â
Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or canning industries is preferredÂ
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departmentsÂ
Experience with the following technologies:Â
Variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motorÂ
Rotary equipment such as a rotary press or fillerÂ
Thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processingÂ
Krones or Techniblend equipmentÂ
HVAC including chillers and/or air compressorsÂ
Demonstrates adaptability by reacting appropriately to unexpected changes in situations or circumstancesÂ
Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookÂ
Ability to read and interpret schematics for trouble shooting; electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic. Ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagramsÂ
Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power toolsÂ
Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick) preferredÂ
Skilled in the repair of variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (asi-bus, can-bus, profi-bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules preferredÂ
Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gaugesÂ
Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine centerÂ
Will need to utilize personal toolbox and personal basic toolsÂ
Safety, continuous improvement and solutions driven mindsetÂ
Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferredÂ
