Title: Maintenance Technician 1

Reports to: Facilities Supervisor

Purpose: Responsible for general maintenance and providing a safe and clean work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values.
Facilitate minor repairs and installations.
Perform routine preventative maintenance.
Complete work orders as assigned.
Timely completion of unit turnovers.
Property and landscape preservation including grass cutting, trash and snow removal.
Provide superior customer service

Experience and Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Technical or building trade education helpful.
One year maintenance experience.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of electrical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry required.
Well organized, able to prioritize own work.
Quick learner interested in expanding knowledge and experience.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Team builder who inspires and motivates others to perform their best.
Can work effectively independently as well as a member of a team.
Commitment to Task-is tenacious, can achieve results in an environment when priorities change quickly.

Physical requirements

Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
Ability to work in an environment in which the job is performed, such as working in hot, cold, dusty, etc. conditions.

Electrical Knowledge

Replace light bulbs
Smoke and CO detectors – testing
Emergency lighting (Batteries) testing
G.F.C.I. testing

Plumbing Knowledge

PVC
Replace faucets
Clear traps and drains
Repair leaks

Carpentry Knowledge

Repair windows
Repair doors
Repair flooring

Tools Knowledge

Skill saw
Drill
Hand tools
Ladders
