We're Hiring: Child Development Supervisor

Location: Providence, RI, Pawtucket, RI, Central Falls, RI (please note: you may be placed at any of our sites that have openings or be expected to float to other sites) 
Reports To: Child Development Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts) 

We’re looking for a passionate Child Development Supervisor to help lead high-quality early childhood programming and support Rhode Island’s most vulnerable children and families. In this role, you’ll guide teaching staff, support families, and ensure our centers provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environments where children can thrive.

What You’ll Do:

As a Child Development Supervisor, you’ll partner with leadership and frontline teams to ensure excellence in programming and care.

Leadership & Program Oversight

  • Supervise and coach child development staff through reflective supervision and regular performance feedback

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members

  • Help implement high-quality curriculum aligned with Head Start, childcare, and state/federal standards

  • Maintain safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environments and materials

Family & Community Engagement

  • Coordinate services that support children and families, including health, nutrition, and mental health supports

  • Ensure family conferences and home-based services occur as required

  • Partner with families and community stakeholders to meet individual child needs

Operations & Quality

  • Oversee daily center operations and ensure classrooms remain in ratio

  • Monitor child outcomes, evaluation data, and program progress reporting

  • Participate in case management, staff meetings, and leadership initiatives

  • Provide classroom coverage when needed

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field (or RIDE ECE certification)

  • Strong computer skills using multiple platforms and programs required.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, leading or mentoring early childhood staff preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance

  • Ability to pass required background screenings

  • Professional growth

    • 30 hours of child-related training in your first year

    • 20 hours of ongoing professional development annually
