Job DetailsJob Location: Thurbers Ave - Providence, RI 02905Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $23.75 - $29.53 HourlyTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJob Shift: AnyFSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community!    Position Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator is a vital member of the backbone agency responsible for stakeholder and resident engagement and participation; community building; identification of assets and needs; assessment of community impact through collecting data and supporting the goals of the Providence 02905 Health Equity Zone (HEZ). The Community Engagement Coordinator is primarily responsible for relationship building with existing HEZ partners, recruitment of new organizations, individuals and other stakeholders, disseminating information and collecting data; scheduling and facilitating HEZ meetings and attending RIDOH meetings as necessary outlined in the project. Works in collaboration with the HEZ Project Director to ensure progress toward initiative activities and goals are met.   Qualifications:  Formal education, or relevant certification and/or a minimum of 3 years related experience in community engagement. Critical thinking and writing skills, creativity and flexibility in meeting changing priorities and demands; attention to detail; identifying and resolving obstacles to improvement/goals. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Familiarity with the 02905 area and/or goals of the HEZ initiative Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to provide culturally competent services. Experience building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with community partners. Demonstrated ability to organize self and others. Ability to work independently and to take initiative; to prioritize and to proceed logically. Ability to become Community Health Worker Certified in Rhode Island within 12 months. Ability to work within Microsoft platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Bilingual/ASL skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay. Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.   Physical Requirements: This position requires: Travel within the community, to and from agency site locations, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators. Ability to work a nontraditional work schedule to include some nights and weekends.  Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work in person and remotely.
