We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region.     Â
Job SummaryÂ
Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Â

EducationÂ
Bachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsÂ
Master's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersÂ
Work ExperienceÂ
2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience requiredÂ
Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting Â
Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferredÂ
Required Licenses/CertificationsÂ
National CertificationÂ
Active state medical licensureÂ
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredÂ
Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room settingÂ
Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Â
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredÂ
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records     Â
Ability to be attentive with strong listening skillsÂ
Strong communication and customer service skillsÂ
Essential FunctionsÂ
Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Examining and treating patientsÂ
Taking patients’ medical historiesÂ
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-raysÂ
Making diagnoses and prescribing medicationsÂ
Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or castingÂ
Recording progress notes for follow-up patientsÂ
Educating and counseling patientsÂ
Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patientsÂ
Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional careÂ
Each provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent CareÂ
All other duties as assignedÂ
