Required Degree:
Ph.D. in Educational Leadership or a related field
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Required Experience:
Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in teaching graduate-level courses in educational leadership content areas
Strong record or clear potential for high-quality research in school leadership
Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in mentoring and advising graduate students on evaluation and/or research projects
Additional Preferred Experience:
Experience working as a school leader, school teacher, or university administrator or in educational policy settings
Deep methodological expertise in specialized quantitative or qualitative methods
Deep understanding and ability to teach educational foundations (e.g., philosophy of education, ethics, multiculturalism, equitable education)
Duties/Expectations:
Teaching
Teach courses in school leadership and/or education research and related topics at the graduate (masters and doctoral) level, with the possibility of some undergraduate teaching
Mentor doctoral students in research
Advise doctoral degree candidates
Scholarship
Engage in high levels of research activity and publication
Citizenship
Demonstrate a pattern of leadership at the department, school, and university levels
Fulfill committee assignments and other citizenship activities inside the university, community, and profession
Position Summary:
The McKay School of Education at Brigham Young University invites applications for a Continuing Faculty Status track (tenure track equivalent) faculty position in the department of Educational Leadership and Foundations (EDLF) beginning August 1, 2027. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The EDLF Department offers the following degree programs:
MEd in School Leadership
EdD in Educational Leadership
PhD in Educational Inquiry, Measurement, and Evaluation
This position will potentially teach and mentor students in all three programs. As a professorial faculty position, this position will have a 2-2-1 teaching load (or equivalent negotiated 15-credit teaching load), have an expectation to maintain a strong research agenda, and mentor master's and doctoral level students on theses and dissertations.
