As a Human Resources Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative support across a variety of HR functions, including onboarding, personnel records, employee communications, and HR operations. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $20.35–$25.78 DOE and Education

What You'll Do as a Human Resources Assistant

  • Provide administrative support for daily Human Resources operations.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation materials, and pre-employment processes.
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize confidential personnel records and HR documentation.
  • Assist employees with general HR questions and direct them to appropriate resources.
  • Support employment verifications, personnel actions, and other employee-related transactions.
  • Maintain HR databases and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with employee recognition, wellness initiatives, training coordination, and special HR events.
  • Process paperwork related to hiring, status changes, separations, and other employment actions.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment, and department managers to support employee needs.
  • Ensure confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information and records.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, organized, and service-oriented Human Resources team that supports approximately 750 employees across the agency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus one (1) year of college coursework
    or
  • One (1) year of specialized training in office practices and procedures

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to type at least 40 WPM
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase
