Fabricator/Welder

Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fabricator to join our shop team in Houghton Lake. This position plays an important role in supporting production and upfit operations through quality fabrication, repair, and shop support work.  Base pay $20/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal components, assemblies, and structures based on drawings, specifications, or instructions Measure, cut, grind, fit, and weld materials accurately
• Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, and welding tools
• Perform repairs and modifications on customer equipment, parts, and structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders
• Assist with general shop duties, including organization and cleanup
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
• Work collaboratively with technicians, welders, and other shop personnel

Schedule & Employment Details

• Full-Time
• Monday–Friday
• Overtime may be required based on workload

Requirements

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana
• Previous fabrication or metalworking experience preferred
• Experience with welding (MIG preferred; additional processes a plus)
• Ability to read measurements and basic blueprints
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical labor as required
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Welding certifications
• Experience in an industrial or shop environment
• Mechanical or maintenance background
