Schedule:
Normal Work Hours and Days:Â Schedule is 12-hour days, up to seven days a week. Days and hours may vary based on project schedules, locations and workload. Mandatory overtime is based on seasonal workload and remote work settings.
Summary:
Responsible to safely operate and maintain equipment on construction (often remote) project sites.
Essential Functions:
- Safely operate equipment on project site(s).
- Notify crew lead daily regarding inventory levels of materials and consumables on site.
- Share with subsidence team where efficiencies and inefficiencies exist with regards to workflow for all scopes at all locations.
- Submit a daily report to crew lead detailing safety/environmental issues (if any), work stoppage (if any), tasks accomplished the previous day, and tasks to be completed.
- Utilize Behavior Based Safety reporting system to report daily positive practices and safety issues.
- Aid in diagnosing equipment failures to ensure safety, cost efficiency and production.
- Ensure and conduct minor maintenance of equipment, to include monitoring and maintaining appropriate fluid levels, fueling and greasing of equipment being operated.
- Conduct manual labor, i.e., shoveling, using a chainsaw, as needed to complete project assignment.
- Effectively work with other members of project team to produce contract/project requirements.
- Maintain record keeping, to include load counts, equipment hours and production.
Other Tasks: - Assist in loading and unloading equipment / material from trucks and/or docks.
- Structural bolt up for VSM/HSM repair projects.
- Perform routine and nonroutine snow removal efforts
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum:Â Â
- 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience with oilfield work and with rig movement.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Class A CDL
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 hour training.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to safely and productively operate equipment used for heavy civil construction.
- Knowledge of and ability to read and follow plans, specifications, sketches and grade/mapping control.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform gravel work that includes grading, read grade stakes, gravel compaction.
- Knowledge to safety utilize various hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of and ability to laser levels and tape measures proficiently.Â
- Knowledge of and ability maintain equipment and follow related procedures.
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot equipment failure.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply first aid.
- Ability to see and record written data and information.
- Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
- Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to perform Atmospheric Gas testing – familiar with use of 4-gas meters.
- Ability to wear protective clothing.

- Noise: Moderate to high noise levels from equipment and operations.
- Vibration: Occasional exposure to normal equipment vibration.
- Atmospheric Conditions: Possible exposure to diesel fumes, dust, and other airborne particles.
Hazards:
- Moving Mechanical Parts: Exposure to engine components, drive trains/tracks, and other mechanical parts.
- Electrical: Potential exposure to electric shock from generator sets and other site equipment.
- Work at Heights: Occasionally exposed to situations which require fall protection.
- Radiant Energy: Rarely exposed.
- Fuel & Chemicals: Exposure to diesel fuel, petroleum distillates, and related hazards.
- General Construction Hazards: Must remain aware of potential risks associated with heavy equipment and construction environments.
