Role Overview: The LMS Author supports the development, coordination, and delivery of training within the Dot Compliance system. This role focuses on building and maintaining training structures, issuing training, and ensuring accurate, audit-ready content through collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The LMS Author plays a critical role in the effectiveness and quality of training programs.

  • Issue and manage training assignments within Dot, ensuring employees are properly enrolled and tracked
  • Build, configure, and maintain training protocols and related training components
  • Collaborate with SMEs to gather, review, and upload accurate training materials and documentation
  • Format and organize training content to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability
  • Support the creation and maintenance of training plans, job functions, and course structures
  • Ensure training content aligns with company processes, ISO requirements, and audit expectations
  • Track training completion and follow up with departments as needed
  • Assist with onboarding training setup and ongoing training updates
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date training records within Dot
  • Provide support to users on training-related questions and navigation within the LMS
  • Identify opportunities to improve training processes, structure, and content quality
  • Work closely with Quality, Safety, HR, and other departments to support training initiatives

Desired Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 2 years of experience in LMS or training-related role
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with SMEs and multiple departments
  • Ability to simplify and present technical or process information clearly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience working within a learning management system (Dot Compliance preferred)
  • Familiarity with training development, instructional design, or technical writing
  • Experience supporting onboarding or compliance-based training programs

Interaction with Others: Reports to the Director of Quality. Works closely with QMS Administrator, SMEs, Quality, Safety, HR, and other departments to ensure training effectiveness and compliance.

Tools & Equipment Used: 

  • Dot Compliance LMS (Salesforce-based)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Computer and standard office equipment
  • PPE when required on production floor

Working Environment: Work is performed in office and production floor environments at a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is often exposed to moving mechanical parts, high voltage electricity and forklift traffic.
