This position is tasked with statewide facility maintenance coordination, project management and reporting, contractor supervision and communication, maintenance planning, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of administration building systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach, meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to excel in a dynamic work environment. Succeed: Become a STRONG unified team providing students with an INNOVATIVE environment to become productive members of society.   Team Leadership & Personnel Management Directly supervise the Safety and Security Technician and Facilities Maintenance Technicians and the Facilities Maintenance Lead. Establish department priorities, work schedules, and performance expectations. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Ensure staff maintain required certifications and complete required annual training. Oversee workload distribution and response prioritization for maintenance, safety, and security requests. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for facilities and safety operations. Serve as escalation point for complex maintenance, safety, and security concerns. Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.   Statewide Facilities Maintenance Management Develop, manage, and continuously improve the statewide building maintenance program. Create and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all GOAL facilities. Monitor facility conditions and develop long-range repair and replacement plans. Oversee maintenance ticket systems, work order completion, and service metrics. Coordinate maintenance projects, repairs, renovations, and facility improvements. Ensure consistent maintenance standards across all statewide locations. Review facility assessment findings and develop corrective action plans. Coordinate vendor services, maintenance contracts, warranties, and service agreements. Monitor contractor performance and ensure completion of work according to specifications.   Safety and Security Program Management Provide oversight of physical security systems including access control, intrusion monitoring, visitor management, security cameras, and related technologies. Direct and support the work of the Safety and Security Technician. Develop and maintain facility safety and security protocols. Conduct routine safety inspections and security assessments. Coordinate corrective action plans for identified safety and security risks. Support emergency planning, incident response, and recovery efforts. Collaborate with school leadership regarding safety initiatives and threat mitigation strategies. Monitor compliance with applicable OSHA, life-safety, and physical security requirements. Lead investigations and documentation related to facility safety incidents.   AHERA & Environmental Compliance Management Serve as GOAL Academy's primary AHERA Management Planner. Maintain and oversee all site-specific AHERA Management Plans. Coordinate required asbestos inspections, surveillance activities, notifications, and re-inspections. Ensure compliance with all federal and state asbestos regulations. Manage asbestos Operations and Maintenance programs. Coordinate environmental testing and remediation activities when necessary. Maintain required compliance documentation and records. Develop corrective action plans for environmental compliance deficiencies. Manage radon testing schedules and follow-up requirements. Monitor environmental compliance deadlines and regulatory reporting obligations.   Capital Projects & Facility Planning Assist with statewide facility capital improvement planning. Develop annual maintenance and repair priorities. Coordinate project scopes, contractor selection, scheduling, and implementation. Participate in facility relocations, expansions, and major renovation projects. Review project estimates, bids, and budget proposals. Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to leadership. Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.   Budget Administration Assist the Director with development of facilities, safety, and maintenance budgets. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities. Review project and repair costs for budget compliance. Track maintenance, contractor, and environmental compliance expenses. Support capital planning and lifecycle replacement forecasting. Prepare reports and recommendations regarding facility investments.   Operational Support Provide technical expertise regarding building systems and facility infrastructure. Assist with emergency facility response activities. Support statewide operational initiatives and strategic projects. Travel statewide to support facilities, projects, inspections, and emergencies.   Additional Duties and Responsibilities:   Ability to treat sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. 20-40% of travel required, in-state only. Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facility management software   Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience supporting commercial construction or remodel projects Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar credential. Experience in educational facilities. Experience with environmental compliance programs. Knowledge of physical security systems and access control technologies.
