The Opportunity:

As a Campus Police Officer, you will perform general-duty police work to protect life and property, enforce laws and ordinances, maintain order, and prevent and investigate crime in support of Washington State University.

Additional Information:

This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. 

Monthly Salary: $6,615 to $8,898 | Range 61PG Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent; twenty-one years of age; possession of a valid driver’s license; no previous felony convictions; U.S Citizenship; AND two years of full-time college; OR one year of police experience. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

  • Must obtain and maintain certification or complete a basic law enforcement course as approved by the Washington Law Enforcement Officer’s Training Commission.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Commissioned law officer under the regulations of the State of Washington.

  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with the public, other agencies, and co-workers in a positive manner.
