The Opportunity:
As an Early Childhood Program Specialist 1 (ECPS 1) for the Children's Center, you will be responsible for following defined work procedures and priorities to meet the needs of enrolled children. Reporting to the Children’s Center Director and under the direction of ECPS 3 and 2 Teachers, examples of your responsibilities include following classroom work such as recording enrollment; preparing and organizing materials used by children for their projects; and monitoring activities such as nap times, free time, snacks, and lunches.
This recruitment is to fill multiple Early Childhood Program Specialist 1's within the WSU Children's Center.
Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent; OR equivalent education/experience.
Six (6) months experience in an early learning program serving groups of young (birth to 5) and/or school age children OR equivalent education.
Must be 18 years of age or older by time of hire.
Must meet the required criteria of having 12 aligned college credits in ECE Core Competencies or a CDA (Child Development Associate) within 5 years of hire. See the following links for more information.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,262 to $4,320 (Steps A - M) | Range #36 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

About the Children's Center - Washington State University Children’s Center provides care for the children of WSU students, staff, and faculty. We serve children from the age of 6 weeks through 9 years. Our program promotes quality care based on respect and positive mutual regard. Our classrooms offer developmentally appropriate learning environments as advocated by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
