The Opportunity:

As the Equipment Technician Lead, you will lead temporary and full-time employees in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen and building equipment. You will serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, coordinate with outside vendors to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and facilitate work needed to meet applicable codes and standards. In this role, you will also perform maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of industrial and conventional kitchen appliances and building equipment, helping to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $5,779 to $6,708 | Range 53G |Steps G - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate and two years of experience as a journey-level mechanic repairing heavy duty or commercial/industrial equipment.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

  • Ability to respond to an emergency outside normal business hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience with domestic and/or industrial appliance repair.

  • Experience leading or supervising employees.
