Teacher

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is searching for a full-time teacher to work at our Little Edison's School! This Monday–Friday position offers a schedule that may vary based on classroom needs, with hours ranging from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Apply today if you are interested in inspiring the growth of our next generation!

As a Teacher, a typical day might include the following:  

• Oversee the educational activities within the childcare classroom

• Apply standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the childcare field

• Establish and maintain supportive relationships with children and parents

• Work cooperatively in a team atmosphere.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

This job might be for you if: 

• You are eighteen years of age or older

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1-2 years documented child care work related experience

• Have the ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team

• Background check results satisfactory to SEL and DEL

• Current Washington State Food Handlers Permit

• Current HIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogen training

• Current MMR vaccination

• Negative Mantoux TB test result(s)

• Current Infant, Child & Adult First Aid/CPR certified

• Meet STARS training requirement in the state of Washington and be listed in the State Training and Registry System

• Valid Driver's License

• Ability to meet MVR Qualification Standards of SEL

• Current Child Abuse and Neglect Training

• Current Safe Sleep Training

• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

• Negative drug test result(s)

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50lbs frequently

• Sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours

Pay Range Data

New hires generally start at $23.00 per hour. We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
