Position Overview:

The medical assistant (MA) position is responsible for providing professional clinical support through established standards and practices.  MAs help providers and staff in coordinating efficient and safe patient care, by performing duties such as information collection, rooming patients, and assisting with or performing designated procedures. Each position has specific requirements with unique duties and responsibilities. This position may require travel between clinic locations.

A Day in the Life:

  • Accountable for the coordination of patient care, including direct patient care, information gathering, and transitions of care.
  • Effectively practice within the model as established by PRH, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of patient care.
  • Establish and maintain communication and collaboration with colleagues, patients and community members, to promote teamwork and positive patient outcomes.
  • Plan and prioritize work for patient care plans and daily planning of clinic to maintain professional delivery of patient care.
  • Interview patients and care givers to assist in the patient care plan.
  • Document patient care conversations, care provided, and all other work as defined by organizational standards in the EMR.
  • Coordinates care as defined by organizational standards for defined patient panel.
  • Decision-Making based upon professional judgment within legal scope of practice.
  • Promotes and contributes to a positive work environment, serving others with professional and positive attitude.
  • Responsible to train, demonstrate, or guide others in the performance of assigned work, includes, but not limited to, new staff and precepting medical assistants in training.

About You!

This Job is For You if You Have:

  • Maintain licensure, in good standing, acceptable in the State of Washington.
  • Active BLS (basic life support) certification.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform the required technical skills for a medical assistant.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform the required technical skills for specific clinic.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to technology.
  • Initiates and participates in activities that enhance daily operations of the clinic and organization.
  • Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, patients, and customers.
  • Strong typing skills.
  • Ability to read and write clearly, and understand policies, labels, and written instructions.
