Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Protection Systems team as a Power Engineering Intern in Pullman, Washington. A typical day as a Power Engineering Intern might include:
- Provide technical support to SEL staff & customers.
- Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
- Perform testing on new and existing technology.
- Document and communicate test results.
- Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
- Understand. Create. Simplify.
- Other duties as assigned.
This job might be for you if:
- Are enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Have reached junior standing or higher in your academic program
- Ability to use MS Windows.
- Ability to use Microsoft Visio
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Electric Power Systems.
- Knowledge of Computer Networks Fundamentals.
- Practical knowledge of SEL protective relays & automation controllers
- Experience in programming and script files

Pay Range Data - $24.25 - $33.00 hourly
Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk with your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
