Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Qualifications

Under the guidance of the Department Director and the Director of Education the Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates with nursing management and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The incumbent acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing and ancillary staff. The Clinical Nurse Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units and clinics. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through ad-hoc or permanently established councils, committees and workgroups. This is a working Educator role and will require assigned hours be spent in staffing.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:
Current RN licensure in the State of Texas, or compact required.

MSN preferred. BSN within 3 years of hire.

Two years experience in acute care specialty nursing.
One year charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
Must maintain all clinical competencies for area of supervision.
Current RQI BLS, ACLS required

BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
Must maintain all additional certifications required by area of supervision.

National certification in area of supervision preferred (i.e.CEN, TCEN, etc.)
Must be clinically competent in area of population served.
Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate team leadership.
Must have the ability to problem solve and think critically.
Must possess basic computer application skills.
