About The Role – Site Supervisor (Bloomery WV)

The primary purpose of the Site Supervisor for Quarrying, Construction and Tunnelling operations is to supervise onsite quarrying, civil works, and tunnelling blasting teams and equipment in accordance with service level agreements, corporate standards, and regulatory requirements while implementing organizational safety, health, environment and security protocols.

The role manages daily operational schedules, ensures compliance with quality and safety standards, develops and motivates personnel, maintains customer relationships, and drives continuous improvement across quarrying and civil blasting operations.

What you will be doing

People Development and Safety

Ensures all employees complete mandatory training, with proper documentation maintained
Manages employee training plans and documents all training activities
Develops, motivates, and supervises employees to achieve their full potential while maintaining safe customer service standards
Maintains strong housekeeping, record keeping, and preventative maintenance programs
Ensures non-compliances are promptly reported for investigation and resolution

Operational Excellence and Compliance

Provides analytical and decision support to the area manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs
Participates in short, medium and long-term planning activities for the site
Completes mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations, conducts safety meetings, and prepares the annual Letter of Assurance, ensuring all assigned actions are completed within required databases
Audits and inspects site operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies
Assists in the preparation of fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, staffing, equipment requirements, and keeps the resource model updated
Analyses site inventories to minimise product quantities and improve site profitability through stock rotation and effective management
Schedules daily activities of employees to meet customer needs and oversees site management, including raw material ordering and preventative maintenance
Manages and responds to operational issues by developing and implementing action plans
Communicates and manages all external regulatory agency audits and inspections, implementing necessary action plans as required

Production Performance and Customer Focus

Maintains, develops, and grows accounts in a safe and profitable manner, meeting corporate goals and enhancing customer satisfaction
Communicates regularly with customers to identify opportunities for improving Orica services
Ensures products meet quality and volume requirements on an hourly and daily basis
Responds to and communicates any deviations from production plans
Delivers process planning as an integral component of maintenance planning and scheduling

Work Environment

• Early mornings
• Monday through Friday, possible on-call
• Travel for training in other states at other sites
• Strong customer interaction
• Managing at least 4 direct reports to include CDL drivers and Blasters
• Responsibility for Orica equipment and vehicles

Your qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in management position with operations, and employee/customer.
• Ability to analyze/impact financial data utilizing SAP, and Resource Modelling.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and the Internet.
• Organization, attentive to detail, time management and quality control.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and other applicable regulations.
• Mechanical comprehension of operation/maintenance of equipment.
• Dangerous goods experience
• Heavy industry preferably mining experience.
• Clearance Authority – permit to work knowledge.
• Applicable driver’s license with clean driving record

Compensation

• Salary $ 78,675 - $110,145 USD annually
• Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
