Job Description

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Veterinary Laboratory Technician to join the in-house laboratory team at our large, multi-specialty, 50+ doctor mixed animal hospital and emergency center and new state of the art Laboratory. The technician will play a vital role in supporting patient care by performing a wide range of diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures for both companion and large animals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients: able to conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks
  • Blood work including CBCs with differentials, chemistry testing, endocrinology, and serology 
  • Urinalysis including reading sediment
  • Various forms of fecal testing 
  • Limited microbiology
  • Processing lab paperwork
  • Preparing shipments to outside laboratories
  • Making reagents
  • Analyzing tests for the DEP water lab
  • Quality control and Quality assurance work
  • Regular (weekly and monthly maintenance) on instruments
  • Stocking lab supplies
  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary


Preferred Education & Experience 

The ideal candidate will have 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • CVT or student in an accredited Veterinary Technician program. (Required)
  • Previous Lab experience (preferred)
