Job DetailsJob Location: Q Office - Quantico, VA 22134Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Bachelor's Degree*This position is contingent on contract award* Job purpose The EWS Subject Matter Expert designs, develops, maintains, and teaches Expeditionary Warfare School distance education curriculum while supporting faculty development, assessment, and LMS delivery requirements. Duties and responsibilities Maintain USMC subject matter expertise in the assigned program's curriculum as measured through the Course Content Review Board (CCRB) process referenced in Appendix H. Adapt resident curriculum into distance education curriculum using the Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design/Systems Approach to Training and Education (MCISD/SATE) curriculum development process per NAVMC 1553.1A. Revise and update courseware according to CDET's course development schedules. Develop course/lesson objectives using Bloom's revised taxonomy to accomplish resident school educational outcomes. Establish and maintain courseware, curriculum and assessment version control. Create and safeguard course assessments electronically. Develop and maintain an electronic assessment-mapping document, demonstrating appropriate linkages between assessments and specific educational objectives, and learning outcomes. Develop electronic answer and reference keys for course assessments. Maintain electronic files of all documents, assessments, graphics, readings, electronic media and supporting information for the courses. Coordinate with the program editor to ensure copyright approval for all provided course materials. Maintain and manage the master LMS course sites, keep them current and responding to questions about content for each program's curricula. Provide up-to-date course information for the CDET public facing website. Answer questions from the field on all aspects of the courses. Perform faculty development by updating, managing, and monitoring course LMS faculty-development site content; electronically developing and distributing the course faculty guide; maintaining course content on the CDET web page; and recommending course-specific faculty standards. Conduct Institutional Effectiveness/Institutional Research analysis by evaluating student performance and recommending curriculum changes; electronically recording test-item analyses; analyzing and recording end-of-course feedback from students, faculty, commanders, and stakeholders; preparing descriptive statistics and graphics to inform course changes; and preparing electronic Course Content Review Board reports or briefings. Travel to IR and Process for the Accreditation of Joint Education (PAJE) or Outcome Based Military Education (OBME) visits, conferences and briefings as required by the CDET Dean of Academics. Participate in annual MCU faculty development sessions. Conduct research for appropriate video/audio clips, and photographs from the Marine Corps Audio/Visual (A/V) Repository and other Marine Corps agencies. Participate in the Joint Staff J-7 Annual Joint Faculty Education Conference (JFEC). Develop courses in accordance with Student Learning Outcomes approved by CG, EDCOM. Teach two courses (by course number) with at least one in their designated course per AY. Ensure all courseware, including all assessments and faculty development material is ready for dissemination by the last day of April for the following academic year. Provide subject matter expert services in each of the following 7 areas: 1. Ground Combat Arms (including Doctrine, Maneuver and Fires) 2. Aviation 3. Logistics 4. Planning (utilizing Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP)) 5. Amphibious Operations 6. Practical Exercises/War gaming and 7. Leadership/Ethics and Prerequisite development. Work primarily with the CDET office at the EWS resident school or a CDET Regional office, if approved by the government. QualificationsQualifications CLS, ILS, SAW, or TLS graduate. Experience using guided discussion techniques to promote critical thinking, reflection, and student engagement. Socratic teaching experience desired.   Education Bachelor's degree in Military Studies or equivalent field. Years of Relative Work Experience: Marine field grade (or select) officer. Experience as a commanding, executive, or primary staff officer at the battalion/squadron level or above. Clearance: Tier 3 Secret eligibility and an active Secret clearance are required; classified access must be maintained.
